U.S. envoy needed in Israel

The Jewish Advocate
August 5-11, 2005

The last decade has been very emotional for Israel's supporters. The hope for peace has been raised, only to be unfulfilled too many times. Now we are just days away from an important window of opportunity, the Gaza pullout. My hopes and prayers are with the Israelis at this time because I know they are working against great odds and with too little support from the American government.

I suggest that President Bush appoint a high-level political envoy to help find ways to coordinate the unresolved political issues between the Israelis and Palestinians. I am afraid many more lives will be at risk if he does not.
