Former school board president Diane Cantor has been named executive director of Brit Tzedek v'Shalom, the Jewish Alliance for Justice and Peace, based in Chicago. The national grassroots movement claims more than 35,000 members working to educate and mobilize American Jews in support of a negotiated two-state resolution of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

"As an American Jew, I have always followed with concern the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and for years have hoped a two-state solution that would bring peace and security to Israelis and Palestinians," Cantor said. She has served as director of the Savannah affiliate of Habitat for Humanity, as a regional director for the Georgia Council on Child Abuse and as a regional representative for the National Alliance of Business.
