Brit Tzedek v'Shalom, the 4-year-old Jewish Alliance for Justice and Peace, has named Savannah's Diane Cantor as executive director.

Cantor grew up in Atlanta during the civil rights movement in the 1960s. Her mother, Betty Cantor, was a leading figure in the Southeast office of the Anti-Defimation League.

"The Atlanta chapter of Brit Tzedek v'Shalom is excited about a fellow Georgian taking on the position of national executive director of the organization," said Jan Jaben-Eilon, a member of Brit Tzedek's national board and co-chair woman of its Atlanta chapter. "In her first meeting with the Atlanta chapter, Diane was full of ideas about how she can help us, as well as assist other pro-Israel, pro-peace proponents."
