Goals Are Not ‘Nefarious’

Jewish Advocate - Letter to the Editor

May 5, 2006
By James Adler

Pinchas Baram (Letters, April 21) says that Brit Tzedek v’Shalom’s “nefarious core goals” are that “Gaza First cannot be allowed to become Gaza Last; [that] settlement growth must be frozen; [and that] further withdrawal from West Bank settlements is vital.”

Good heavens: Such ideas in the same “nefarious” ballpark include none other than those of the victorious Kadima Party and the new Prime Minister of Israel. Moreover, the ideas in this ballpark are not the “core goals” of Brit Tzedek (or for that matter of Kadima), but only a means forward to the core goals – for a safe, secure, prosperous, Jewish and democratic Israel.
