Brit Tzedek Commends Israeli Diplomacy in Wake of Suicide Bombing

Washington, D.C.— In the wake of the tragic suicide bombing in Tel Aviv late last week, that killed five Israelis and wounded many others, Brit Tzedek v’Shalom commends the Israeli government’s decision to respond through diplomatic rather than military means.

“We deplore all attacks on civilians, and especially this one, clearly designed to interrupt the peace process. It is an encouraging sign of renewed cooperation that Hamas was not involved and the Palestinian Authority unequivocally condemned terrorism,” said Marcia Freedman, president of Brit Tzedek v’Shalom. “We grieve with those who lost loved ones. We especially welcome Prime Minister Ariel Sharon’s restraint in the face of this terrible act.”

Brit Tzedek v'Shalom, the Jewish Alliance for Justice and Peace, is a national organization of American Jews deeply committed to Israel’s well being through the achievement of a negotiated settlement to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Brit Tzedek has 25,000 members and supporters and 31 chapters in cities across the country.
