You are invited to hear Shuli discuss challenges to, and solutions for, advancing civic equality between Arabs and Jews in Israel. Join us for a conversation in the chapel:
Shuli Dichter, an Israeli Jew who has dedicated his life to ending the gaps and inequality between Jewish and Arab citizens of Israel, will talk about the challenges and solutions for making the 1.2 million Arab citizens of Israel equal.

Hagit Ofran is the director of Israeli organization Peace Now’s Settlement Watch. Settlement Watch monitors – and protests – the building of settlements, including housing tenders, expropriation of lands, budget allocations, and the like, along with studying settlers attitudes regarding possible evacuation (and compensation) in the West Bank and East Jerusalem.

This was a chance to learn, ask questions, and discuss in an informal setting. We will ate and then had a discussion about the Israeli election (which happened on March 28) and how it will affect Israel, Jews, and the peace process. For more information and directions, please contact David Albert.

Members of Brit Tzedek’s Austin chapter had a successful meeting on Friday, June 3rd with the district director for Democratic Rep. Lloyd Doggett. The delegation consisted of 7 people including a local rabbi. The chapter is looking forward to organizing a meeting with Rep. Michael McCaul in the coming months. 2:30pm: Naomi Chazan addressed the "Status of Women in Israel" at the UT campus with the Middle East Studies department.
9:30pm: Naomi Chazan spoke at Congregation Beth Israel on Friday night. She addressed foreign and domestic issues facing Israel today.

7:00pm: Former Deputy Speaker of the Knesset, Naomi Chazan spoke about developments in the peace process at the University of Texas. The talk was followed by a question and answer session. Co-sponsored by the Austin Chapter of Brit Tzedek v'Shalom and Texans for Israel/Texas Hillel.
