Two members of the Israeli-Palestinian group, Combatants for Peace, will take part in a session of study and discussion on the topic of non-violent alternatives for achieving a resolution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
Visitors from Combatants for Peace are Yonatan Gur, former Israeli army platoon commander, and Ra'ed Haddar, former Palestinian combatant. Open with free admission to the St. Louis community, and presented in a study group format in keeping with Shabbat, the event is sponsored by Brit Tzedek v'Shalom-St. Louis, (Jewish Alliance for Justice and Peace).
Shabbat study with Combatants for Peace. The "Combatants For Peace" movement was started by Palestinians and Israelis who had taken part in the cycle of violence between the two peoples. After brandishing weapons for so many years, these former combatants decided to put down their guns and instead fight for peace.
